The Cryo-Microscopy Group Meeting, took place on November 12, 2025, at the University of Nottingham. The event brought together researchers and specialists to exchange insights on the latest advancements in cryo-microscopy and its expanding role in life sciences. Discussions focused on practical applications, emerging techniques, and how cryo-microscopy continues to shape biological research.
The Cryo-Microscopy Group Meeting featured in-depth discussions on advanced cryo-SEM techniques for biofilms, including secondary electron hyperspectral imaging (SEHI) within Cryo-FIB/SEMs, as well as studies on DNA repair complexes. Attendees explored a range of cryo-microscopy methods including cryo-light microscopy, cryo-electron microscopy, and cryo-x-ray microscopy, along with their correlation with cutting-edge cryo-analytical techniques. This event was ideal for researchers interested in advancing their understanding and application of cryo-microscopy technologies.
The program also included Technobyte talks by equipment manufacturers and brief presentations by attendees.
Tescan attended the event with a stand and a company presentation, showcasing advanced cryo solutions for life sciences. Attendees had the opportunity to explore Tescan’s innovations, which combine precision, reliability and workflow integration for cryogenic applications. There was also an intriguing discussion about cryo workflows for Ga-FIB or Xe-FIB.
